School Holiday Adventure Day Camps

​Our Adventure Day Camps were so successful last year that we've rolled out over 10 dates for 2018! We've also made it easier for you to find and book your ideal day camp with our online booking and payment system. Simply find the date and combination of activities that sound best for you, click to book and follow the instructions on the web page. All the information will then be emailed to you and we'll be waiting to meet you for a day of adventure at Talkin Tarn!

From chatting with the parents of children who attended these day camps, we heard about the challenges of finding things to do near Carlisle to keep kids of this age busy. Our Adventure Day Camps are aimed at ages 9-14 year olds. With the perfect combination of adventure, excitement, fun and competition, your kids will have a great time with our professional instructors. We only use the best instructors to look after our groups. Each instructor holds an enhanced DBS check and is First Aid Trained. As a standard, they are qualified to the nationally recognised standard, and we have been inspected and accredited by AALS, who have awarded us an AALA licence as required by the HSE.

Once you sign up to a day camp, we'll send you an information form. We will tailor the activities as best we can to meet the individual needs of your children, by filling in the form you are giving us the heads up on any adaptations we may need to make. We also provide lunches and snacks during the day so it is a good chance to let us know of any dietary requirements we need to cater for. The Talkin Tarn Tea Rooms do a great job and provide plentiful picnic lunches for your children, including their famous hand-made cake!

Although we can extend this time if required, we welcome you to bring your children from 9am. Our instructors will play some games with them until activities begin soon after 9:30. We'll point out the key areas of Talkin Tarn and set a couple of expectations (both of us and of you), to keep everyone safe and happy - then on with the adventure! A short break for a drink and snack, then onto the second activity before lunch. The third activity of the day will finish just before 3pm and we ask that all children are collected before 3:30, unless you've arranged for some extra time and short activities.

These days are absolutely brilliant and enjoyed by everyone who comes along. We've had some children who came along for 4 or 5 last year as they enjoyed it so much. Take a look at our event listing to find the best combination for you.
