Try Stand Up Paddle Boarding lessons with Talkin Adventures. Talkin Tarn is one of Cumbria's best kept flat-water secrets and it's not far from the Lake District. If you are able to visit Carlisle, the northern half of Cumbria or Hadrian's Wall country, we are a very convenient venue for outdoor activities, with fabulous facilities.

Why not make a full day of it? Stand up paddleboard lessons go well with kayaking, canoeing or a good long stroll around the Talkin area. There is the sandstone gorge of Gelt Woods to explore or for the more energetic a walk up Talkin Fell or the northern Pennine tops: which are just a stone's throw away!

If you book our SUP board lessons, you will enjoy the perfect intro to stand up paddle boarding. Using high quality, inflatable paddle boards, you will learn the basics and quickly head out onto the water. You will be standing up in no time at all on our very stable boards. You'll soon discover why this is one of the fastest growing water sports in the great outdoors.

Private Stand Up Paddle Board lessons can be arranged through our online booking system. Select your ideal time and date and simply book online. The minimum age for SUP at Talkin Tarn is 12 years and the maximum group size for online booking is 6 participants.

Your session will be private for your group and the price is "per session". These sessions are ideal for families and small groups, gifts and outdoor experiences for fun. Ideal for a staycation in Cumbria or local day out.

We also arrange monthly, open sessions, during the warmer seasons. individual places are available to book on these, pre-scheduled events.

When boat hire is open (11am-4pm weekends and school holidays) we may have the capacity to offer open SUP lessons for individuals to book on the day. These aren't available to book in advance so it is best to arrange a private session or book a place on an scheduled open event, but please do pop down and ask us on the day if we have any space. You'll need a change of clothes and shoes that you are happy to get wet. Our paddle boards are only available for use on our sessions, not for hire.

The Mega-SUP (or Giant Paddle Board) is perfect for groups looking to enjoy the water together. Our XXL paddleboard is 18ft long and can comfortably hold up to 8 adults at a time. This incredibly stable platform is ideal to include your whole group, especially if some members might struggle on a board on their own. You can imagine the fun you will have on a hen/stag do with this. The extra large paddleboard can be booked for a session or as an add-on to our usual SUP experiences. Contact us to arrange this.

To give this as a gift, either book a session using our online system, or email us to arrange the purchase of a booking code so that the recipient can select their own date. Please note that we only offer private activity sessions. Your gift certificate can be for any value towards a session but we do not have "per person"/open sessions.

There is no additional cost to this and the code will be valid for any session over the next 12 months.
